The suspects, all girls, are currently detained at Mityana Police Station.
Mr Allan Twishima, the Mityana District criminal investigations and intelligence chief said the suspects were picked from Kiyinda Polling Station.
“We have them in our custody and after investigations, they will be arraigned in court,” he said.
He said the students were transported in a saloon car to go and vote in the Mityana Municipality.
One of the suspects who spoke to Daily Monitor said she was transported from Naama Secondary School after being told that she was going to vote under someone’s name; since she was not a registered voter.
It’s not clear which political camp transported the girls to the polling station.
Mityana Municipality has three divisions where a number of candidates were competing for the chairperson seats.
