Although there was still palpable tension when THISDAY visited the market at about 4p.m. yesterday the presence of security personnel from the Nigerian Army and Nigerian Police, helped to quell any thoughts of uprising.
The clash last Thursday, which claimed no fewer than seven lives including two school children, caused wanton destruction of property and vehicles and left scores with varying degrees of injuries.
The clash had lasted for hours before soldiers and police personnel drawn from Rapid Response Squad (RRS) and Area H, restored peace to the area.
However, the clash again spiraled out of control the next day as more persons were killed and more properties destroyed.
Although the market was yet to resume in full swing, as it was still shut and manned by a retinue of soldiers, that did not stop some traders, who took to the road to display their wares.
As at sunday, the residents who had obandoned their homs were already returning to their homes under the protection of soldiers and armed policemen.
Also, the Lagos State Governor, Akinwunmi Ambode, paid a visit to the volatile area to ensure that peace is been restored to the area.
He assessed the level of damage and the destroyed proprieties in the company of the Director, Lagos Command of the Department of State Services (DSS), Kunle Ajanaku.
Others were the Brigade Commander, Nigeria Army, 9Brigade, Major General Bulama Biu; the Commanding Officer, Nigerian Navy Ship Beecroft, Captain Abraham Adaji and the state Commissioner of Police, Fatai Owoseni.
