MOZAMBIQUE: Nyusi promises FDS security to Renamo dialogue partners

President Nyusi will order the Defence and Security Forces to protect the members of Renamo that will take part in the dialogue with the government. Filipe Nyusi has reaffirmed that dialogue is the best way to resolve the armed conflict besetting the country, and has promised that the defence and security forces will guarantee the safety of Renamo dialogue partners.

Speaking at a rally in Mandimba, about 90 kilometres far from provincial capital Lichinga on the second day of a visit to Niassa province, the president again said no to war, and promised to instruct the defence and security forces to protect  Afonso Dhlakama’s team at the negotiations.

Besides an end to the armed conflict Mandimba residents called for schools, hospitals and banks.

President Nyusi went to Niassa to check on development in the province and hold meetings with stakeholders, attend rallies and visit projects of economic and social interest in five districts.
