Cape Town – Yet another allegation has emerged concerning the infamous Gupta family and a Cabinet minister – this time Human Settlements Minister Lindiwe Sisulu.

Economic Freedom Fighters deputy president Floyd Shivamvu claimed on Monday that Sisulu had been moved out of the defence portfolio after she refused to give in to demands from the Gupta family that a plane lease tender be awarded to their company, eNCA reported.
Shivambu alleged that the Guptas wanted to sell a plane to the defence department for R4bn but Sisulu apparently said there were “cheaper options”.
When she refused to kowtow to the family’s apparent demands, she was shifted to the public service and administration portfolio, the EFF deputy president claimed.
Sisulu’s spokesperson did not respond to Shivambu’s allegations.
Last week Deputy Finance Minister Mcebisi Jonas said the Guptas offered him the job of his then senior, Nhlanhla Nene, News24 reported. Jonas refused to take the job and Des van Rooyen was slotted in, only to be replaced four days later by Pravin Gordhan.
Former ANC MP Vytjie Mentor also alleged in a Facebook post that the family, who have close business ties with President Zuma’s family, had offered her a Cabinet position while Zuma was in the next room.
The Guptas have denied all the allegations.
